Once you note which classes to sign up for, please click and send in the mandatory liability waiver first, then click the image below to fill out the form and pay the $35 registration fee per student. * Don’t forget to scroll and click the “Purchase “ button. The registration fee is $35 refundable. When you send in your payment, please also print and sign the liability waiver above. Don’t forget to fill in the full registration form and click purchase!

Alyson's School of Dance in Colchester CT brings quality dance training to all ages and abilities. Jazz, Hip Hop, POM, Acrobatics, Tap, Contemporary, Modern, Lyrical, Ballet and Pointe are taught by some of the best instructors in Connecticut. Owner Alyson Portelance-Ayer joins our qualified dance class teachers who have the best training and experience near me. Preschool, Elementary, Teen, Adult. Dance class is a place to learn, be inspired, sweat, make friends, have fun, create, explore. Our mission at ASD is to bring quality dance training to students of all ages and abilities. Classes are taught with discipline and respect by qualified instructors. We at Alyson’s School of Dance realize that although not every dancer dreams of becoming a professional performer every student deserves to receive qualiy dance training. Cultivating a love for the performing arts in a child will bring many rewards … happiness, self-confidence poise and a sense of accomplishment, not to mention the physical health benefits! Dance is joy, dance is life and it is a gift to be shared from the heart! Join us at ASD where we have a passion for dance and it shows! Ages 3 to Adults. Levels are determined by management and Instructors. Competitive Team and Performance Team classes are offered for ages 6 and up and are available via audition or invitation. Tap: A percussive form of dance where the dancer is also a musician - tap shoes required. Jazz: May have different styles such as Broadway, Street or Urban, Dance Team or Competition style performed to jazz or pop music this style of dance uses leaps, turns, kicks, classic jazz steps and isolations. May rely heavily on unison for certain styles while others do not. Ballet/Pointe: Classical dance performed in ballet shoes, we use a combination of Vagonova and the French school of technique. Pointe is offered to students at an intermediate or advanced level who are ages 11 and up. Most be evaluated for readiness. Hip Hop: An urban dance form derived from street dance and performed to hip hop music with clean lyrics. Lyrical: Slow style of dance where lyrics of the song are interpreted through movement. This form ustilizes technique and flexibility. A ballet class is recommended in conjunction with this class. Contemporary/Modern: May be abstract, artistic, uses isolations and timing or abstract concepts and pedestrian movement. Can tell a story or notand is recommended with ballet training. For ages 11 and up. POM: Dance using Poms in choreography, cheer dance. Acrobatics: A style of gymnastics that incorporates floor work, moderate tumbling and flexibility in conjunction with dance.
